Connecting the Dots: Ancient Wisdom, Modern Science
I healed a horse when I was 9 by following inner promptings that I was always aware of but usually ignored. In that moment, I became aware of a dichotomy that splits everyday life from the extraordinary. I also saw that the two need not be mutually exclusive (yet we are taught they are). This experience instilled in me a burning desire to understand not only how such things were possible (from a logical, scientific perspective) but also why we as a species would choose not to incorporate things like healing miracles into our everyday consciousness.
My book Connecting the Dots: Ancient Wisdom, Modern Science takes you on my quest for answers that took me across continents (I left the USA at 19 years old and traveled through Asia for two and a half years), into ancient texts and healing methods, and the intricacies of modern biology and physics.
My perspective as an intuitive, empathic, clairvoyant visionary allows me to bridge modern science with ancient knowledge in clear, unique ways. These gifts helped me create tools and techniques that the reader can immediately use to manifest a richer, more supported, healthier, and connected life.
More About The Book
Connecting the Dots provides information that can change your life. You will find chapters like:
- “Trust your Gut?” makes sense of why our guts are able to pick up reliable information that humans can utilize to make wise decisions.
- “White Mouse” introduces us to epigenetics, the science of how trauma from one generation affects successive ones both emotionally and genetically.
- “The Earth and Us” presents findings on how connecting to the earth balances our electromagnetic field, and describes a bacterium in soil that acts like a natural anti-depressant to humans.
- “Crystaline Structures” explains the super conductivity of crystalline structures and reveals how many places in our bodies we have them.
- “The Grass is Greener” takes us back to the Victorian era, an important turning point in distancing ourselves from nature. At that time, doing so made sense – but now that we have witnessed the long-range consequences of this approach, we can see that it might not be beneficial.
Lia looks at energy as it pertains to the body from an ancient and modern perspective, drawing on beliefs from all over the world. She explores the concept of religion as an institution – and the laws that were set in place to control the populace, especially animists and women.
In searching for answers, Lia does not leave many stones unturned. She then connects her findings through her own lens (which she encourages readers to do as well) resulting in profound insights.
Lia believes that it is very important for us to understand how our current beliefs came to be – because she is convinced that it is only through doing so – that we can truly free ourselves from outmoded beliefs. (Examples of this can be found in “Nature, Women, Cats and the Church”, “Women’s Bodies” and “God, Sex, the Church and Issues of Control”).
While the chapters are many and diverse, Lia bridges the inner and outer worlds as well as ancient knowledge and modern science to help you step fully into your power with strength and self-acceptance.
Connecting the Dots is a must read for anyone on a personal path of healing and transformation.

What People Are Saying about Connecting the Dots
As a single mother of a neurodivergent child, I found the chapter on the brain and the way it functions, particularly interesting. I’ve studied a lot about neural pathways over the years (including having read Lia’s resource materials) and have never seen them discussed so cogently or with such dexterity. I love Lia’s relationship with her material; so clear and passionate. I encourage anyone and everyone to read this!

This book does just what the title says it does, connects the dots, and it does so in a logical, forthright way that is amazingly easy to follow and digest (and making sense of how important it is to “trust your gut.” Lia Russ has written a manual to understanding how things work and how we have the power to change our world. Highly recommended!

Even though I have studied this connection for many years Lia had a number of facts and recent discoveries that I was unaware of till reading Connecting the Dots. I have gained knowledge and insights that I can use in my spiritual/healing practice as well as my personal relationships. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to better their understanding of themselves as well as the world around them.

Lia Russ
We are all born seeing and connecting to the spiritual/energetic worlds, but not long after we shut that ability down (or rather our cultures do). Lia never lost these abilities, which did not make Lia’s tumultuous childhood any easier.
Lia was born in Colorado in a small shack that clung to the steep slopes of the Rocky Mountains in a little town that was cut off from the rest of the world for six months every year. Only four children were born that same year in Crested Butte. Perhaps this extreme isolation that encouraged Lia to keep her gifts active. In truth, she did not even realize that she was different until her mom remarried and they moved to Westchester County, NY. At this point Lia was struggling on every level to fit in and found that she was failing. As an undiagnosed dyslexic Lia‘s struggles at school made her stupid. All these experiences conspired to make it extremely easy for Lia to leave the country, with her boyfriend on a trip to Tokyo. With $500, a backpack and a tent, Lia struck out on her own looking for self-healing and understanding of her gifts. (See Lia’s book Winging It: A Memoir of My Journey to Asia to learn more about this trip).
Once back in the States Lia’s quest continued and lead her to study many ancient texts, religions and spiritual practices as well as healing techniques. She studied with many medicine people, shamans and other teachers.
Lia’s ability to see, sense and direct energy enabled her to be aware of many things that others were not. Eventually she began looking for scientific explanations for the things she was aware of or able to accomplish. Discovering real connections in science made it much easier for her to finally find self-acceptance. Her work also helps others do the same.
These interests lead to writing her first book, Connecting the Dots: Ancient Wisdom, Modern Science (Masked Path Publishing, 2021). In 2023, she created a free quiz that helps people discover their gifts. Then she wrote a book that supports the understanding and use of these gifts, Lightworkers Archetypes: Honoring Our Sensitivities, Remembering our Gifts and a follow up The Ascension Guide: Practical Advice For Lightworkers (both Silver Path Publishing 2023.)
Lia now lives a purpose-driven life, healing, teaching and lecturing.
